Earlier this week, the SCC Board approved the proposed revised SCC Rules. The new rules will enter into force on 1 January 2017, and include a number of noteworthy revisions and innovations. The recently adopted versions of the 2017 SCC Rules are published below.The Committee for the revision of the SCC rules and practices was established in September 2014, and has included 20 members from the domestic and international arbitration communities, and in-house counsel. The work of the Committee has been carried out under the chairmanship of Mr. Jakob Ragnwaldh, Partner at Mannheimer Swartling and Vice Chair of the SCC Board.

Linguistic adjustments may be made to these drafts rules before they enter into force on 1 January 2017. In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the draft rules published hereby and version published as of 1 January 2017, the version published as of 1 January 2017 shall prevail.
